Funeral service for Mark Humphrey, age 68, of Como, Texas, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Como United Methodist Church with Rev. Beverly Olson and Denver Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Academy Cemetery in Como, Texas, with Kyle Humphrey, Ryan Humphrey, Kason Barnhart, Kent Shaw, Mitchell Walker, Colton Clark, Kevin Burchfield, and Bernard Anderson serving as pallbearers. Serving as Honorary pallbearers are Ken Youngblood, Danny Cooksey, Jim Murray, Auston Burchfield, Jimmy Barnhart, Jeff Matlock, Danny Clark, Tommy Robinson, and Humphrey & Humphrey employees. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Humphrey passed away at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Mark Humphrey was born on July 14, 1957, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to the late Aubrey and Rena (McBride) Humphrey. He married Jamie (Barnhart) Humphrey in Como, Texas, on July 20, 1984. Mark graduated from East Texas State University with a degree in agriculture. He owned and operated Humphrey & Humphrey Dairy in Como, Texas. Mark was dedicated to serving his community, having served on the Como-Pickton School Board and the Sulphur Springs Tax Board. He was also a faithful member of Como United Methodist Church, where he served as secretary and treasurer.
Mark is survived by his wife, Jamie Humphrey; daughters, Kathryn Humphrey of Como, Rebecca Hicks and husband Bryan of Canton; son, Clayton Humphrey and wife Ashley of Como; grandchildren, Easton Hicks, Jaci Hicks, London Hicks, and Aubrey Humphrey; honorary grandchild, Ellis Self; brothers, Jon Humphrey and wife Lori of Como, and Dale Humphrey of Mount Pleasant; twenty-one nieces and nephews; and twenty-five great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, brother, Mickey Humphrey, grandson, Dawson Hicks, and nephew, Denton Barnhart.
