Mary Kernes

Graveside service for Mary Kernes, age 90 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00P.M. Monday,

November 3, 2025 at Restlawn Memorial Park with Buddy Wiggins officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:00P.M. on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Ms. Kernes passed away on October 30, 2025 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab.

Mary was born on September 30, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to Walter Brian and Olive Francis (Maxwell0 Swope. She worked for Grocery Supply. Mary was the youngest in her family and was raised on a dude ranch in Texas. She enjoyed cooking, watching her TV shows, and signing in church. Mary was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Pam Brown and husband, Carl, Bruce Brodie, Johnny Follis, Elizabeth Follis and husband, Randy, and Novalene Matthews and husband, Bobby; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son, Billy Lollis; grandson, James Michael; great grandson, Caleb Matthews and great granddaughter, Amber Burton.
