Merle Bagwell

Funeral services for Merle Evelyn Bagwell, 91, of New Braunfels, formerly of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother B. J. Teer officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with her nieces and nephews serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour before the service (12:30 p.m.).
Merle Evelyn Bagwell passed away Tuesday morning, December 6, 2011 at Vista Village in New Braunfels. She was born in Hunt County July 31, 1920, the daughter of William Denton and Samantha (Taylor) Denton. She married Horace H. Bagwell at Hunt County September 23, 1939. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and she was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: daughter, Jo Ann Jones and husband Thomas of San Antonio; grandchildren, Sheryl Sultenfuss of Natalia, Kim Foote of Austin, Darrel Foote of San Antonio, Brooke Foote and Mollie Sultenfuss and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shirley Crump; one sister and six brothers. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
