Nancy Smith

Funeral services for Nancy Smith, age 88, of Brashear, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 17, 2010, with Rev. David Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Brashear Cemetery, with Ricky Smith, Timmy Smith, Sammy Gomez, Todd Wallace, Dan George and Larry Vaughan serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Nancy Smith passed away Monday night, June 14, 2010, at Carriage House Manor. She was born in Brashear on October 17, 1921, the daughter of Frank Buckholt and Alice (Adair) Buckholt. She married Rayburn Millard Smith in Brashear on May 27, 1939. He preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Brashear Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughters, Carolyn Vaughan and husband, Larry, of Brashear and Lisa Smith of Plano; two sons, Dale Smith and wife, Betty of Cumby and Carl Smith and wife, Donna, of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Ricky Smith, Timmy Smith, Debbie Gomez, Amy Wallace, Kristi George, Mandi Mitchell, Carly Smith, Lindsay Smith and Kelsey Smith and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by eight sisters and one brother. Memorials may be made to Brashear Baptist Church Building Fund.
