Funeral Services for Oscar Ray Baumgardner, age 88, of Sulphur Springs will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2001 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Bosworth officiating. Private Military graveside services will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Collation, with Karl Kobald, Christi Kobald, Elizabeth Mathis, Bob Dunshee, Scott Calhoun, and Greg Lund serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Dan Humphries and Jones Roberts. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Wesley United Methodist Church.
Oscar Ray Baumgardner passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his home. He was born in Tulsa, OK on October 11, 1922 the son of Ralph & Grace Parker Baumgardner. He married Tilly Amanda Merrill in Selma, AL on December 22, 1945. She survives. Ray served in the United States Army in WWII. He was a retired Regional Sales Manager for Foremost Dairies and member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include: daughter, Shelly Mathis of Granbury; sister, Irene Clark of Wagner, OK; grandchildren, Christi Kobald, and Beth Mathis.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian Lund and a sister, Margaret Staires.
