Ovie Lee Davidson, beloved mother and grandmother passed away August 13, 2009 at the age of 91. Born Ovie Lee Caldwell in Cornerville, Arkansas on September 21, 1917, Lee, as she was known, is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Reba and Laverne Rice of Warren, Ark., and Charline and Ron King of Richardson, TX; a step son and wife, Ronald and Cathey Davidson of Irving, TX; brothers-in-law and wives, Bruce and Julia Davidson of Katy, TX, and Dave and Georgia Davidson of Sulphur Springs; a grandson, Bradley King of Richardson; a cousin, Vivian McGraw of Orange, TX; and nephews and wives, Shane and Amy Davidson of Abilene, TX, and Justin and Tracie Davidson of Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Davidson, in 1999 and by one daughter, Barbara Dean Grice.
Lee was a long time resident of Sulphur Springs and attended the League Street Church of Christ where she and J.W. enjoyed volunteering in many areas. Lee was a regular member of the Women's Bible Class and continued on in her volunteer activities at the church, including the Clothing Room until she was 87 years old. After working as a bookkeeping clerk for many years, Lee enjoyed being a Mary Kay Consultant, and she and J.W. also operated a business in Sulphur Springs called "NaturaLee". Her hobbies included sewing and crocheting, and she also loved animals and singing. She especially enjoyed the church's special sing-alongs and their talent shows. Lee was a strong believer in the Lord and is now at rest in His arms. All who knew her loved her for her kindness, sense of humor and unfailing encouragement to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Services for Ms. Lee Davidson will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Kilmer officiating. Burial will follow at Nelta Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.
