A graveside service for Ray Owens, 69, of Como will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Peerless Cemetery, with Rev. Ray Evers officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Ray Owens passed away at his residence Saturday, August 6, 2011. He was born in Hopkins County on June 13, 1942, the son of Johnie Owens and Flora (Titsworth) Owens. He married Opal Faye Caddell at Sulphur Springs on July 5, 1963; she survives. He was a retired truck driver and machinist. He was of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include: son, Curtis Ray Owens and wife Carla of Birchtree, Missouri; two daughters, Janice Conley and husband Johnny of Cooper and Becky McCann and husband Carl of Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Billy Owens of Cumby and Melvin Owens of Paris; sister, Shirley Brown of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Crystal Stoops, Constance Owens, Ryan Fuller, Christopher Fuller, Amy Fuller, Nicole Conley, Brandy Conley, T. J. McCann, Joseph McCann, John McCann, Kristen McCann and Takara Miles and great-grandchildren, Benjamin Stoops, Rustie McElwrath and Brillee-Ann Arrendondo. He was preceded in death by sister, Ruth Stewart. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Memorial.
