Ron Hayes

Graveside service for Ron Hayes, age 81, of Yantis, Texas, will be held at 11:15 A.M. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Ronald Joe Hayes Sr., passed away on August 13, 2026, at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas.

Ron was born on May 13, 1945—Mother’s Day—in Dallas, Texas, to Joe Billy and Billie Faye Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sue Foster.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sue Hayes; his sons, Ron Hayes Jr. and wife Sasha of Richardson, Texas; Kenneth Hayes and wife Kristi of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and Chris Hayes and wife Lindsey of Caddo Mills, Texas; and his sister, Jeanie Paroski of Balch Springs, Texas. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Ron proudly served his country in the 3rd Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam veteran. His service to his country and his lifelong bond with the Marine Corps remained a deep source of pride. Above all, Ron loved God, his family, and the Marines. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing the piano. His faith, devotion to his family, love for his country, and pride in his service defined his life and legacy. Ron will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ron’s honor to One Tribe Foundation, an organization dedicated to creating a community that raises awareness and combats suicide by empowering Veterans, law enforcement, first responders, and their families through traditional and non-traditional therapies.
