Ron "Smitty" Smitheart Sr.

Memorial service for Ron “Smitty” Smitheart Sr., age 78 of Emory, TX will be held at a later date. Mr. Smitheart passed away on July 25, 2022 at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.

Ron was born on December 12, 1943 in Lufkin, TX to Ocie Lee and Bobbie Jean (Sowell) Smithhart. He married Glenda Faye Sikes on June 23, 1970 in Jefferson, TX. Ron worked as a Police Officer for Plano, TX for 35 years and McKinney, TX for 2 years. He even attended FBI academy in 1975. Ron was a member of the Free Mason in Yantis, TX. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Ron was a member of the Emory United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda; daughter, Tracy Lynn Smitheart; son, Ron Smitheart Jr. (Kristen); grandchildren, Mariza Lynn Smitheart, Oleona Deann Williams-Smitheart, Ronald Caleb Smitheart, Lily Claire Smitheart and Jacob Luke Smitheart.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mona Jean Smitheart Lovett.
