Ronald Lynn Wilcox, 79, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, passed away on April 7, 2026, at Christus Mother Francis Hospital in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
He was born on October 24, 1946, in Winnsboro, Texas, to Willard and Lois Wilcox. He married Annitta Nowotny on February 11, 1972, and they shared 45 years of marriage. She preceded him in death in 2016. Ronald took great pride in owning Ron’s Janitorial Service in Sulphur Springs since 1968. In his time owning his business, he employed many who relied on his fair and generous care of them over the years. Some who came to Sulphur Springs to help with a ministry were employed by him and have lived here ever since, for some 30 years. Ronald was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 18, 1964. His faith was very important to him and guided his life. He was known to be kind, funny, and a practical joker at times. He and his wife often welcomed others into their home to enjoy good meals and warm company. He had a positive impact on all who knew him, and he cherished his association with his spiritual family and formed many lasting friendships within the congregation.
He is survived by his niece, Arlene Wilcox Kinard (John) of Plano, Texas; sisters-in-law, Dianna Nowotny of Anacortes, Washington, Jeanette Hatley of Eureka, California, and Teresa Criss of Clarksville, Arkansas; brothers-in-law, Antone Nowotny of Coal Hill, Arkansas, Ray Nowotny (Kathy) of Anacortes, Washington, Arlis Nowotny of Clarksville, Arkansas, and Don Nowotny (Cheryl) of Clarksville, Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters in the congregation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Wilcox and Lois Wilcox Overstreet; his brother Doyce Wilcox; and his brother-in-law, Cronce Nowotny.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1239 Jefferson St E, Sulphur Springs, Texas, on April 18, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
His family and friends find comfort in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection and look forward to the time when they will see Ronald again.
