Rosemary Temples Gregg, 92, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026. Rosemary was born on October 3, 1933, in Sulphur Springs to Ewing and Ethel (Kirk) Temples. She lived for over 60 years in the Dike Community, where alongside her husband, Billy B. Gregg, whom she married in May of 1949, they raised three daughters, horses, cattle, hay, and built a life rooted in faith, family, and agriculture.

For more than 65 years, Rosemary was a proud and active member of the Order of the Eastern Star through the Sulphur Springs and Sulphur Bluff chapters, cherishing the friendships and fellowship she found through the organization. She was a faithful member of the Dike Methodist Church, where she served as pianist, and later the Tira Methodist Church. Her gift of music blessed countless worship services throughout the years. She was also a dedicated 4-H leader, helping guide and mentor young people in agriculture and community involvement. Rosemary served as a Hopkins County election volunteer for many years, where she worked alongside some of her closest friends. She and Billy were longtime members of the Texas Hereford Association, American Quarter Horse Association, and American Paint Horse Association. Raising Hereford cattle, Quarter horses, Paint horses, and Border collies were important parts of their lives. Watching their grandchildren show livestock and compete on horses branded with the -G were highlights of their long lives and exemplified their dedication to the family as well as the agricultural industry.

Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Brenda McKinzie, Billie Rose Odell, and Gail Gregg. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Marty McKinzie, Marci Schnitker, Jill Murray, and Cody Odell.

The legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Conner McKinzie, Riley McKinzie, Morgan McKinzie, Cassady Craddock, Camryn Craddock, Jake Murray, Jenna Murray, Bill Cody Odell, J.D. Schnitker, and Harper Creel, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, neighbors, and fellow church members whose lives were enriched by her and Billy’s kindness and steadfast faith.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy B. Gregg; her parents, Ewing and Ethel Temples; and her brothers, Billie Temples, Aubrey Temples, and Lynn Temples.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caretakers at Carriage House Manor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shooks Chapel Cemetery or the Tira Cemetery.
