Sheri Jo Walters

Funeral service for Sheri Jo Horne Walters, age 77, of Pickton will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Pickton United Methodist Church with Rev. Byron George officiating and Bro. Henry Suche Jr. assisting. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery, Brinker TX with Leon Gunn, Larry Ross, Casey Ross, Phillip Ross, Trent Watkins, Kason Barnhart, Luke Walters and Dakota Watkins serving as pallbearers and serving as honorary pallbearers are Sulphur Springs HS Class of 1960, Terisa Ray, Mickey Turner, Polly Swatsell, Geanie Wilburn, Patty Gunn, Markeeta Green, Julie Charleston Miller, Joy Allen, Katie Gray, Rose Robinson, Frankie Joe Smith and Phyllis Watkins.  Visitations will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 7 to 9 P.M. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel and on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from 1 to 2:30 P.M. prior to the service at Pickton United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Walters passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at her home.

Sheri Jo was born on January 14, 1942 in Dallas, to Joe and Madlyn Horn.  She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1960 and graduated from Draughn’s Business College.  Sheri Jo was the first woman to work at Grocery Supply.  She was also, a dairy operator and mail carrier.  Sheri was a member of Postal Carriers of America and The Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Walters; children, Joe Mack Walters and wife, Jennifer, Judy Ann Potts and husband, Matt; grandchildren, Kaci Barnhart, Dakota Watkins, Faith Watkins, Lucy Walters, Luke Walters, Ryan Potts, Rose Potts, Jackie Farrar, Jaycee Farrar, Jentry Farrar; great grandchildren, Maden Barnhart, Abigail Barnhart.

Sheri Jo was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law, K.C. Walters and mother-in-law, Ellen Walters.
