Funeral services for Stephanie Thomas, age 33, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, formerly of Cumby, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cumby, with Rev. Bruce Stern officiating. A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, will follow in the Cumby Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Susan Clark, Danny McCollum, Dustin Clem, Jeremiah Rutledge, William Pickett and Brian Clem. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Cumby Funeral Home.
Stephanie Thomas passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was born in Paris, Texas, August 4, 1977, the daughter of Steven Ray Rutledge and Nancy (Lowe) Rutledge. She served in the United States Army with duties in Iraq and Afghanistan. She was a Blackhawk mechanic and she was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: one daughter, Elizabeth Carol Thomas of Cumby; three sons, Avery Michael Celus, Caleb Dewayne Rutledge both of Roseboro, North Carolina and Kyle Ashton Thomas; her parents and one sister, Susan Rae Clark all of Cumby.
