Steve Eppars

Funeral service for Steve Eppars, age 68 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00P.M. on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Minister Lance Simpson officiating and Tyler Wooten and Triston Abron assisting. Interment will follow at Connor Cemetery with Mike “Bobcat: Skelton, Wynton Lewis, Roger Sewell, Kenneth Wright, Bryan Barclay, Johnny Wilson, Ty Giles and David Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve’s coworkers at the Farmers Co-op. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Eppars passed away on June 27, 2025 at his residence.

Steve was born on April 30, 1957 in Dallas, Texas to Johnny and Phyllis (Thomas) Eppars. He married Teena Chester on July 1, 2023 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Steve was a truck driver for Northeast Texas Farmers co-op as well as a cattle rancher.

He is survived by his wife, Teena; daughters, Angie Steen and husband, Erik and Misty Abron and husband, Triston; sons, Chance Eppars and Reese Eppars and wife, Morgan; grandchildren, U.S. Army Sgt. Jordan Harred and wife, Courtney, Alyssa Abron, Kanin Abron, Sevyn Abron, Kiely Steen, Brynn Steen, Maddie Steen, and future grandson, that he was so excited to meet, due in September, Brody Eppars; and “Big Daddy” to Raelynn Moore; brother, Jay Eppars and wife, Leslie; sisters, Suzanne and husband, Rick Harrison, and Sheri Holmes and Bobby Haley, and Darla McLemore and husband, Thad. As well as bonus children, Lisa Barclay and husband, Bryan and Lance Simpson and wife, Stacey; bonus grandchildren, Kaylie Karagias and husband, Kevin, Kelsie Simpson, and Kody Barclay; bonus great grandchildren, Kash and Kolbie Karagias; sister-in-laws, Vickie Wilcox and Tonjia Lee and husband, Robert; brother-in-law, Andy Chester and wife, Glynda; numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Raymond and Ruby Thomas and E.A. “Buck” and Gladys Eppars; brother-in-law, Tony Holmes.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Connor Cemetery Association.
