Thomas Vandeventer

A memorial service for Van Vandeventer, 84, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Emory United Methodist Church.
Van Vandeventer passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Allen on July 21, 1927, the son of Nolan Gray Vandeventer and Velma Velera (Lowe) Vandeventer. He married Carolyn Labeth Bendorf in Mesquite on July 23, 1978; she survives. He was a retired business owner. He owned a construction company with his son, Tom.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Molly Lea Denson of Romance, Arkansas and Suisan Glyn Perez of Point; son, John M. Vandeventer of Sulphur Springs; sister, Vida Folstadt of Garland; grandchildren, Melissa, Junior, Wesley, Travis, Thomas, Donald, Jessica, Trevor, Sarah, Elizabeth and Doug and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter, one brother and one sister.
