Tom Minter

Funeral services for Tom Minter, 74, of Rowlett will be conducted at Pickton United Methodist Church at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Saturday, October 15, 2011, with Rev. Henry Suche officiating. Interment will follow at Pickton Cemetery, with Brian Pleasant, Greg Pleasant, Rick Jaskula and David Minter serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Tom Minter passed away at his residence Monday evening, October 10, 2011.
He was born in Pickton July 27, 1937, the son of Joseph Minter and Idabell (Templeton) Minter. He married Janie Hyatt in Dallas May 5, 1986; she survives. He was a retired division controller for Texas Instruments. He obtained a master's degree in business from East Texas State University. He was a member of First Christian Church of Garland and the Texas Air National Guard.
Other survivors include: son, Tommy Minter of Garland; daughter, Kasey Minter of Rowlett; sister, Barbara Shields of Grapevine and granddaughter, Samantha Minter. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maryann Pleasant and Sally Roushey and brother, Dr. Joe Bob Minter.
