A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, for Tom Sanders, age 91, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2010, at Greenview Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2010, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Tom Sanders passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Bristow, Oklahoma, on September 13, 1918. He married Dora Armstrong in Dallas, on May 22, 1948; she survives. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army as a staff sergeant during World War II and was involved in the Panama Theater.
Other survivors include: son, Tommy Sanders and wife, Barbara, of Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Buelah Caldwell of Kansas, Lorena Zinn and Billie Cook, both of Dallas and two grandchildren, Aaron Sanders and Rachel Kistler.
