Funeral services for Tommy Ray Hurley, 68, of Sulphur Springs will be held at First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2011, with Pastor Mark Bryant officiating. Interment will be at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Mike Gaisbauer, Kevin Gaisbauer, Chris Gaisbauer, Monty Hurley, Joey Martin, and Aaron Potts serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Tommy Hurley passed away Friday afternoon, September 23, 2011 at Homeplace Hospice in Tyler. He was born in Sulphur Springs on August 17, 1943, the son of Josiah Alonzo (Lon) and Annis Craig Hurley. He married Sandra Kay Martin in Sulphur Springs on October 21, 1989; she survives. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Other Survivors include: sons, Tommy Hurley Jr., and wife, Denise, of Sulphur Springs, Jason Hurley, and wife, Shelia, of Cookeville, TN, Jeremy Hurley, and Elise, of Tucson, AZ, Josh Hurley, and wife, Jennifer, of College Station, and Scotty Reed, and wife, Darla, of Sulphur Springs; daughters, Crystal Berry, and husband, Jerric, of Rowlett, Shelly Schwartz, and husband, Daniel, of Sulphur Springs, and Sara Walker, and husband, David, of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Marshall Hurley, and wife, Jo, of Sweeney; sisters, Ima Baxley, and husband, Odell, of Sulphur Springs, Zelma Gaisbauer, of Dallas, and Luvena Owens, of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Macy Hurley, Bo Hurley, Emily Hurley, Lillian Hurley, Preston Hurley, Austin Hurley, Alaina Hurley, Kaelyn Hurley, Tyler Hurley, Josiah Hurley, Brenna Murray, Colby Schwartz, Jackson Reed, Marley Reed, Hunter Walker, and Haydan Walker; his buddy and mother-in-law, Virginia Martin, of Sulphur Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, four brothers, one sister, and one grandchild, Jordan Hurley.
