Funeral services for Vernon " Pa-Pa" Emerine, age 72 of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2011, with Rev. David Burns Rev. Kevin Brown and Rev. B. J. Teer officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with David Gulley, Jimmy Price, Mike Bowman, Randy Hall, Ricky Lozano, Dickey Scroggins, Casey Emerine and Taylor Emerine serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his coffee drinking buddies at Pizza Inn. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29 2011, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Vernon "Pa-Pa" Emerine passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Whon, on February 3, 1939, the son of James Harrie Emerine and Lorena (Adams) Emerine. He married Beatrice Lozano in Malakoff on May 16, 1959; she survives. Mr. Emerine was a heavy equipment opertator and owner/operator of Emerine Shredding and Dirt Work. He was a member of Brashear Baptist Church and he served in the United States Army.
Other survivors include: four sons, James Emerine (Leslie), Jacky Emerine and Johnny Emerine and fiancée, Lori Potts, all of Sulphur Springs and Jimmy Emerine of Arlington; daughter, Janice Teer (B.J.), of Sulphur Springs; four brothers, James Emerine (Estelle) of California, Daniel Emerine (Oleta) of Granbury, D. C. Emerine (Pattie) of Frankston and J. P. Emerine (Nell) of Flint; sister, Lorena Airheart (J. C.) of Trinidad; grandchildren Wendie and Daniel Turner, Ashley Eubanks, Misty Teer, Christy Teer and Mandy Teer and fiancé, Dustin Barrett, Casey and Emily Emerine, Taylor Emerine and Kyla Emerine and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Emerine. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Memorial.
