Mrs. Wilson passed away at her residence on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Virginia was born August 17, 1948, in Lamar County to Willie Elmo Bentley and Nora Dell (Gibbons) Bentley. She married William Lynn Wilson on January 25, 1985, in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Virginia spent more than 30 years caring for others as a CNA, a calling that reflected the way she lived every part of her life—with compassion, tenderness, generosity, and a natural desire to care for anyone who needed her. She was deeply selfless and devoted her life to her family, her friends, and her faith.
Her home was always open, her table always had room, and those who entered were made to feel welcome. She was a loving wife, mother, stepmother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, caregiver, neighbor, and cherished friend. To so many, Virginia was simply the person you could count on.
She gave freely of her time, her heart, and herself, never asking for recognition and often putting the needs of those she loved before her own. Her family was her greatest earthly treasure, and she found joy in gathering the people she loved around her. She loved deeply, forgave freely, and leaves behind generations who will carry forward the strength, kindness, devotion, and love she poured into them throughout her life.
Above all, Virginia loved the Lord. Her faith in Christ was steadfast and deeply woven into who she was. Fellowship Baptist Church was an important part of her life, and her love for her church family was profound. She lived with the assurance of her faith, and those who loved her find comfort in knowing that she has now gone home to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by the eternal love of Christ.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Judith Beck (Kevin) of Sulphur Springs; sons, Steven Alexander (Tricia) of Arizona and Timothy Alexander (Lori) of Tyler, Texas; stepdaughter, Denise Sullivan; and stepson, Shane Wilson.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chad Beck, Chase Beck (Samantha), Ashton Alexander (Serenity), Mikayla Alexander, Micah Alexander, Reed Alexander, Austin Alexander, Madison Alexander, Chloe Sullivan, Graham Sullivan, Stephen Wilson, and Ethan Wilson; and her great-grandchildren, Madison, Adrian, Blakeleigh, Rylann, Karlee, Kamryn, Karter, Brooklyn, Dakota, Jackson, Justin, Arlie, and Selah. She is also survived by Tyann, the mother of Mikayla and Ashton, and her dear friend Janet (Bob) Keller, who was like a sister to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Lela Diane Woodward, Ronald Bentley, and Willie Adrian Bentley.
Virginia leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured simply in years. It lives on in every person she loved, every life she touched, every meal shared, every door she opened, every hand she held, and every prayer she prayed. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her love will remain a permanent part of the family and friends she treasured so dearly.
“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” — John 11:25
