Funeral services for Wilford Lee Huie, age 76, of Powderly, formerly of Sulphur Bluff, will be conducted at Sulphur Bluff Baptist Church, at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2010, with Rev. Charles Rawlinson officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery, with Jason Mobley, Max Holt, Dustin Huie, Jeremy Huie, Robert Peterka and T. J. Peterka serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Wilford Lee Huie passed away Saturday evening, August 21, 2010, at Brentwood Terrace Nursing Home in Paris, Texas. He was born in Sulphur Bluff, on March 8, 1934, the son of Ernie Clifford Huie and Donie Marie (Bassham) Huie. He married Lois Laverne Pipkin in Sulphur Bluff on February 16, 1954. She preceded him in death in 2002. Mr. Huie was a retired machinist from Rockwell International and a member of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include: two daughters, Brenda Huie and husband, Jerry Mack Lindley of Paris, Texas and Rhonda Kay Mobley and husband, Danny, of Powderly; three sons, Danny Huie and wife, Tammy, of Dike, Billy Huie and wife, Misti, of Greenwood and Jackie Huie of Paris, Texas; brother, Don Huie of Dangerfield; four sisters, Anita Lee of Mt. Vernon, Edna Bullard, Dorothy McCreight, both of Dangerfield and Janie Foster of Mesquite; grandchildren, Jason Mobley, Jennifer Holt, Johnny Huie, Daniel Huie, Stacey Gillispie, Dustin Huie, Dillon Huie, Jeremy Huie, Savannah Lindley, Kolton Huie and Kelsey Huie and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one great-grandchild..
