William Petty

Funeral services for William (Bill/Son) Petty will be held Sunday, September 25, 2011, 3:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Jason Petty and Bruce Stinson officiating. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jason Petty, Billy Petty III, Todd Hawkins, Chad Hawkins, Jessica Jarrard, and Derek Robinson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Rooks Jr. and Gary Odom. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
William Petty passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at his residence. He was born July 12, 1922, the son of Elijah and Gertrude Clevenger Petty. He married Anita Louise Wilkins on December 24, 1945; she survives. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage in December. He was a retired Vice President of Standard Gypsum. He served in World War II in the United States Army. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and of the VFW in Sweetwater.

Petty Jr. (Cynthia), of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; grandchildren, Billy Petty III, Jason Petty, Andrea Petty, Alissa Petty Melton, Donald Rooks Jr., Denell Robinson, Chad A. Hawkins, Todd Hawkins, Brooke E. Hawkins, Brandon Crawford, Dustin Crawford, Caitlin Crawford, Jessica Jarrard, Melanie B. Jarrard, Shelby L. Jarrard Smith, Emily R. Martinez; and great-grandchildren, Derek Robinson, Brandon Robinson, Luke Melton, and Jack Melton. He was preceded in death by, his parents; brothers, Alvin Petty, Earl Petty, Leamon Petty, and Billy Bob Petty; and sisters, Faye Diederman and Jo Tally.
