Funeral services for William "Bill" Tate, 78 of Sulphur Springs will be 11:00 am, Monday, February 7, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Chapel with Rev. David Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the Brashear Cemetery with John Beezley, Doyle Woods, Huel Hammonds, Mike Woods, Kent Shepp and Dennis Morris serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Leach, employees and members of Dairy Farmers of America. Visitation will be 6 till 8 pm, Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mr. William "Bill" Tate passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Como. He was born in Lubbock on October 6, 1932, the son of John and Goldie Locke Tate. Bill married Rhonda Petty on October 6, 1991 in Sulphur Springs. She survives. He was co-owner of Tate Trucking, was a rancher and cattleman. He was of the Baptist faith.
Other Survivors include: sons, Terry Tate of Brashear, and Josh Morris of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Cindy Russell of Sulphur Springs; brother, Doug Tate of San Angelo; grandchildren, Kyle Tate and Cole Burnett.
He was preceded in death by sister, Ella McNeil and brothers, Raymond Tate,
A.A. Tate and Ene Tate.
