Memorial Service for Francis Xavier Bauer, age 75, of Yantis, TX will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charles Moore and Rev. H.P. Hosey officiating. Visitation will be held at the family residence at Lands End after the service. Francis Xavier Bauer passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at his residence in Yantis, TX.
Francis was born on July 10, 1944 in Lebanon, PA to Dr. Francis Xavier Bauer and Mary Virginia Paulin. He married Suzanne Newman on June 9, 1973 in Oklahoma City, OK. Francis proudly served the US Army in Vietnam. He was a special agent in the Secret Service before attending law school. He practiced law in Sulphur Springs for the past 37 years. He was a big sports fan and enjoying watching Villanova basketball and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and attending SMU football games. The highlight of his morning was running his Huckleberry hound around the golf course with his friends.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Erin Bauer; son, Chris Bauer and wife, Brooke Bauer; granddaughters, Mary Frances Bauer and Anne Claire Bauer, sisters Mary Bauer, Toni Bauer-Smedberg and husband, Jeffrey, and Anne Bauer and husband, Jay; brothers, James Bauer and wife, Mary Sue and John Bauer and wife Yun; and many nieces and nephews
Francis was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gregory Bauer.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to MD Anderson or South Central Bloodhound Rescue.
