JL Buchanan

Graveside service for JL Buchanan, Jr., age 88, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Buddy Wiggins officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Buchanan passed away on August 13, 2010, in Saratoga, CA.

JL was born on December 25, 1922 in Sulphur Springs, TX to John Louis (Jack) and Kate Buchanan. He married Susie Buchanan in Sulphur Springs, TX on May 28, 1944. JL proudly served in the Marine Corps during WWII from 8-24-1942 to 11-18-1945.  He served in the South Pacific.  He owned and operated several businesses.

He is survived by his sons Louis Buchanan of Sulphur Springs, John Buchanan and wife, Patty of Reno, NV; grandchildren Matthew Buchanan, Andrew Buchanan, Allison Pruitt and husband, Jarvis, Madison Hernandez and husband, Alan; great grandchild, Jarvis Lee Pruitt, Jr.

JL was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil and Gene; sisters, Sue and Lois.

Although JL spent his last years in California, his wish was always to be buried with his wife, Susie, in Sulphur Springs, TX.
