Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel.  Mrs. Owens passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab.

Luvena was born on October 7, 1924 in Sulphur Springs to Josiah Alonzo “Lon” and Willie Annis (Craig) Hurley.  She married David Williams Owens in Sulphur Springs on March 7, 1942.  He preceded her in death in 1987.  Luvena retired from H.D. Lee and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Reilly Springs Baptist Church.  Luvena’s favorite day was Sunday and to think she broke the morning dawn of her favorite day worshiping our Great Jehovah God and Father with Jesus, her husband, David and son, Gary, is both funny and ironic in the fact that God would send an angel to give her what she always wanted -- a home in heaven.  It was the perfect ending to her story.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Smith and husband, Jack of Corsicana, Janie McLarry of Sulphur Springs, Barbara McKinney and husband, Leldon of Houston, Paula Stone and husband, Leon of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Stephanie Fisher and husband, Brian of Houston, Melissa McLarry of Sulphur Springs, Kameron Smith and wife, Stacy of Austin, Richard McLarry and wife, Mary of Chandler, Greg McLarry and wife, Tammi of Sulphur Springs, Chris McLarry and wife, Dawn of Flint, Paul Stone and wife, Josie of Sulphur Springs, Sean McLarry and wife, Stacey of Sulphur Springs, Susan Arrington and husband, Jarome of Burnett, David McKinney and wife, Natalie of Houston, Tina Owens of Denton; great grandchildren, Jessica McLarry and fiancé, Max, Christina Williams, Ashlyn Quiett and husband, Trevor, Daniel McLarry, Jordan McLarry and wife, Hanna, Crystal Garcia and husband, Anthony, Craig McLarry and wife, Melissa, John McLarry, Christian Landers, Grant Fisher, Alyssa Aryal and husband, Kushal, Blake Fisher, Kaci Nichols and husband, Samuel, Heather McLarry, Jack Kade Smith, Hunter McLarry, Alexandra Fisher, Harley McLarry, Hannah Stone, Rush McLarry, Ethan McLarry, Stone Arrington, Sophie Smith, Katie Arrington, Lauren Stone, Madelyn Arrington; great great grandchildren, Trevor, Cullin and Kennedy Williams, Joslyn McLarry, Drake and Emma Garcia, Ella McLarry; sister, Zelma Gaisbauer of Plano; sister-in-laws, Ruby Bain and Sandra Hurley of Sulphur Springs; numerous nieces and nephews.

Luvena was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; son, Gary W. Owens; eight brothers and sisters.
