Mary Jo Peek

Graveside services for Mary Jo Peek, age 90, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Brashear Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Darty officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be: Shaun Peek, Bryan Peek, Colby Peek, Jimmy D. Fite, Steve Moore, and James Pickel. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.  Mrs. Peek passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at her residence.

Mary Jo Peek was born on March 15, 1929 to Jim and Sadie Luttrell Fite in Hopkins County, TX. She married Guy N. Peek in Hopkins County, Texas.  Mary Jo was a retired Nurses Assistant at Leisure Lodge for 10 years, and affiliated with the Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Mary Jo is survived by sons: Horance Gene Peek of Grand Praire, Larry Don Peek of Sulphur Springs, James R. Peek of Riley Springs; a daughter Mary Evelyn Castro of Houston; and a sister Doris Jenkins of Martin Springs. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, daughters: Brenda Kay McGee and Linda Eastman; son Joe Kenneth Peek; brothers: C.E. (Goob) Fite, J.W. (Pete) Fite, Jimmy E. Fite, Charles W. Fite, and one sister Katheryn Nolen.
