Ricky Gammill, 65, of Sulphur Springs, TX passed away peacefully March 13, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Ricky was born in Hopkins County to Bill and Nettie Gammill on June 8, 1955. He was a 1973 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School where he met the love of his life, Karen Easley. Ricky and Karen were married on June 2, 1973 at Martin Springs Baptist Church. Ricky was a lifelong resident of Hopkins County where he spent three decades as a local dairy farmer. He joined the Lowes family in 1998. In his 20+ year career with Lowes he managed multiple facilities across the country, earning numerous accolades to include General Manager of the Year in 2015. Ricky raised his daughters on the softball field, loved playing the role of Poppy with his grandchildren, and always had a project or five in the works around the house.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Nettie Gammill.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen; daughter Misty Lockhart and her husband Bryan Lockhart of Grand Prairie; daughter Marcie Gammill of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren Bryson Lockhart, Tate Bradford, Tyce Bradford and Georgia Bradford; siblings Don Gammill, Willie Gammill, Kathy Henton, Reed Gammill, and Omie Penny; mother-in-law, Wandean Easley; and countless precious nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home, Monday March 15th at 2pm with private burial to follow at Arbala Cemetery. Open visitation will begin one hour before the service.
Pallbearers will be nephews Tommy Hurley, Jr., Shane Fite, Heath Gammill, Lee Hamner, Jake Mahand and Luke Penny. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ace Hamner, Ronny Darrow and Danny Reed.
